Bisheswar Tudu, the senior BJP leader and Union Minister raised controversy by saying many officers appointed through UPSC are dacoits. The minister made this controversial remark at golden jubilee function at Bilapal govt. school, Balasore district.

The minister alleged that while a “chicken thief” can be punished, a mining mafia official cannot be punished since the system protects him.

During the function the minister was heard saying remarks in a video and it went viral all over the media. However, PTI was unable to verify the video’s validity.

“I had the idea that people appointed through UPSC are the most knowledgeable and are constantly in prominent positions.” But now I suspect that the majority of people who have graduated from there are dacoits. “I won’t say 100%, but many of them are dacoits,” Bisheswar Tudu added.

Also added, “Why our society is engulfed in corruption and injustice if such educated people are there?”.
