No one knows much about Putin’s private life and his daughters
The world does not know much about the Russian President Putin secret life and his two daughters. In fact, even Russians do not know much about his private life. He has shielded his two daughters from the glare of public life.
As Putin continues to terrorize Ukraine, US and the European Union decided to impose news sanctions against him. However, they also felt the need to give the heat of targeting his two adult daughters.
Putin’s daughters
According to the reports of NDTV, Putin’s daughters are in their thirties. They have been shielded from public glare for the most part. One of the daughters is 37-year old Katerina Tikhonova and the other is 36-year-old Maria Vorontsova. US officials believe that a large chunk of Putin’s personal wealth is with them.
Putin’s daughter Katerina graduated in physics and mathematics. She married Kirill Shamalov, the son of Nikolay Shamalov, a long time friend and confidant of President Putin. Another daughter Maria is a doctor. She married a Dutchman but lives separately now.
Love, marriage and extra marital affair
Both the daughters are from Putin’s ex-wife Lyudmila Shkrebneva, an air-hostess for Aeroflot. Aeroflot is the largest Russian airline. She began dating Putin in the late 1970’s.
When Lyudmila met Putin on a double date, she did not think much about him. Though, unimpressed with his style of dressing, they dated for four years before getting married in 1983.
Unfortunately, they divorced in 2014 after she came to know about Putin’s affair at at the age of 56 with a former Olympic gymnast. The gymnast was only 24 years. Reportedly, the gymnast, Alina Kabaeva has another child.
His denial
According to the New York Times, Putin denied his relationship with Alina. When reporters asked him about the affair, Putin just ignored it. He said,” I’ve always disliked those who with their infected noses are erotic fantasies break into other people’s private affairs”. However, the Russian newspaper which revealed the secrets of Putin’s life shut down soon afterwards.
Furthermore, speculations are still ripe about Putin’s relationship with Alina. Apparently, she went into hiding after the Ukraine invasion, along with her children in Switzerland.
Sanctions by US
The sanctions against the daughters or children of Putin means that they cannot travel to Europe. Even their assets will be frozen. Hence, there is strong opposition from the people against Switzerland for sheltering Alina Kabaeva. However, the Swiss government clarified that it has no indication that Alina is actually in the country.
Alexei Navalny
The opposition leader Alexei Navalny published the relationship of Alina and Putin. The Russian government arrested Navalny in January 2021.
Navalny alleged that Alina benefitted enormously from her relationship with Putin. She acquired a large number of luxury properties and a well-paying job for herself. She holds the position of chair person of a media holding company called the National Media Group.
Secret Love child
According to several media reports, Putin and Alina have a secret love child, a daughter. In one of the Russian investigative online site, a report in 2020 said that A woman named Svetlana gave birth to a daughter in 2003.
The portal said that the child resembled the physical likeness to Putin. Moreover, the middle name of the girl was Vladimir. However, Kremlin did not comment on this further.
