The sudden death of Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the IT minister of Andhra Pradesh has left a vacuum in Andhra Politics. Now his family is in the news for the late leader’s political heir.

According to the sources, there is a discord in the Mekapati family regarding the heir of late Goutham Reddy’s political legacy. His sudden death has shocked everyone a month ago.

The trouble has started with the question of Mr. Reddy’s inheritance. Sources close to this influential family say that the father of Goutham Reddy, Rajmohan Reddy, an Ex- MP, wants to push his younger son Vikram Reddy to fill the gap.

However, some sources hints that Mrs. Keerthi Reddy, wife of Goutham Reddy, who is crawling back to normalcy is interested in continuing her husband’s legacy. In doing so, she wants to pass on the mantle to her son Arjun Reddy.

According to News Meter, Mekapati Keerthi Reddy is very serious about contesting the elections. On the contrary, her in-laws do not want their daughter-in-law to enter politics. Moreover, they want their own blood to continue the legacy. Hence, they are not backing her. It is also said that trouble started brewing in the family only a week after Goutham Reddy’s death.

Goutham Reddy’s brother, Prithvi Reddy refused to plunge into politics and opines that Keerthi Reddy should continue the legacy of his brother, whereas, the senior Reddy thinks otherwise. Hence, without even consulting Keerthi Reddy, he pushed the name of his younger son Vikram Reddy to fill the gap.

Speculations started when it was rumored that Keerthi Reddy’s name was there in the AP CM Jagan’s Cabinet 2.0. Vikram Reddy went and met CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.

However, Keerthi Reddy has the support of the top notch of Andhra Pradesh and her children.
