On Monday, a building at Doon Defence College in Dehradun collapsed due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand.
A video of the Doon Defence College building in Dehradun collapsed like a pack of cards. The video is going viral all over social media and the internet.
The college is situated near the Garhwal Himalayas and the Shivalik mountain ranges. Besides IIT and technical studies, the college prepares students for NDA and defence services tests.
The Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday issued a red alert for heavy rains in six districts for the next 24 hours including Dehradun and Nainital.
According to news reports, the college building got washed away by the strong currents of River Bandal. The river was overflowing due to the relentless rains in the state over the past 24 hours. Luckily no casualties have been reported.
