In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl was killed by a leopard or a bear near Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at the Alipiri-Tirumala, Tirupati. The girl was missing from Friday night and was found dead in the early hours of Saturday.

According to news reports, The girl identified as Lakshitha, the daughter of Dinesh Kumar and Sasikala from Pothireddypalem of Kovuru in Nellore district. They went for Tirumala on foot for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

On Friday, around 7.00 PM, the girl was missing and the parents started searching for her. When they could not find their daughter. Later, they filed a missing complaint with the Tirumala police.

After receiving the information, the TTD, security personnel, and local police with the help of the forest department team reached the area and started a search operation. Later, Lakshitha’s body was found near Narasimha Swamy temple around 4.00 AM on Saturday.
The leopard attacked and killed the girl’s neck and ate her entire face. They shifted The body of the girl was shifted to SVR Ruia Government General Hospital for postmortem.

Police said, “It is suspected that the baby was taken by a bear while the baby was walking alone.” Seeing the injuries on the girl’s body. It is supposed that it was a bear attack. Forest personnel are trying to identify the visuals of the CCTV cameras.
