A distorted map appeared on the Twitter website under the header ‘Tweep Life’. The map showed Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as separate countries.
However, on Monday, Twitter removed the map from its website.
The map appeared on the Twitter website under the header “Tweep life”. This raised a huge furor across the country. The chief of Twitter was asked to give an explanation about it. In fact the government of India does not want to take this issue lightly.
There was huge criticism earlier on Monday, after a distorted map was shown on the Twitter website. BJP leader P. Muralidhar Rao criticized Twitter’s representation.
He said” Twitter is confirming by its actions the apprehensions expressed widely in last few months about its bias towards Indian interests and sensitivities”.
The error of distorted Indian map comes at a time when there is a tussle between the Centre and the social media giant regarding the new IT rules.
