Tank Bund Closed for Traffic on Sundays: Hyderabad Police

The Hyderabad traffic Police have come up with a plan to restrict the movement of vehicles on Tank Bund on Sundays. The Tank Bund will be closed for general traffic between 5pm and 10 pm.

This plan comes in the wake of the suggestion tweeted by a Mr. Ashok Chandrashekar to Mr. KTR. Immediately, Mr. KTR requested the CP of Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar to consider this suggestion.

Furthermore, Ashok Chandrashekar, pointed out that crossing Tank Bund to the lakeside is a nightmare for pedestrians.

K T Rama Rao, Minister for IT and MA&UD had asked the city police to explore the possibility of closing the Tank Bund for traffic on weekends.

Next Sunday on wards, we will be closing the Tank Bund for five hours for general traffic. Diversions will be enforced for the smooth movement of regular traffic on alternate routes, Anjani Kumar said

The Commissioner added that the state government took up beautification works on the Tank Bund, elaborately.

Consequently, large numbers of families were thronging the place during weekends. Moreover, the traffic restrictions are planned to ensure the safety of the pedestrians.

Subsequently, the first 200- meter stretch on the Tank Bund will be converted into temporary parking spots. People will be able to move around easily on Tank Bund.
