Prayagraj: Bollywood alike Gang Wars in Schools, Shocks UP Police

According to the police, 11 people were arrested in connection with the crimes. Surprisingly, 10 out of the 11 are minors.

The gang wars between two gangs of school children is the reason for the six bomb blasts in different parts of UP’s Prayagraj in three months. According to the Financial Express, the police informed that boys aged between 15 and 17 from well-to do families indulged in gang wars. They were part of two gangs namely Immortals and Tandav.

When the youth of the country should be focusing on their career and personal development, these 15 and 17 year old boys are busy being part of gang wars in Prayagraj.

According to the police, 11 people were arrested in connection with the crimes. Surprisingly, 10 out of the 11 are minors.

Modus Operandi

A senior police officer told Indian Express, “Eleven of these students were caught on Tuesday. They have confessed to their involvement in six cases in the past three months. In all the six incidents, the students were involved in physical assault and hurling bombs at their opponents before escaping from the spot on two-wheeler. They covered their faces with scarves during the crime,”

Money Extortion

The police said that the boys in the age groups of 15 to 17 from well-to-do families were part of two gangs – Immortals and Tandav. Immortals has around 40 members while Tandav has 100. These are allegedly involved in criminal activities since a year. These groups made money through extortion. Moreover, they took money to give passwords to play games similar to PUBG.

11 Arrested in Gang Wars

A police officer said, “Of the 11 nabbed, 10 minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which sent them to a juvenile home. The eleventh accused is 18 years old and had passed intermediate recently. He was produced before a local court, which sent him to jail,”

Bombs hurled at Opponents

In the initial investigation, it was found that students hurled bombs at their opponents outside the school to create fear in them. One of the members prepares a video of the bombs being hurled during the attack and the video is shared on social media with other members. Then the clips are shared with other students to influence them.

Apart from these two gangs, there are many such gangs active in Prayagraj – Jaguar, Maya and Lawrence.

Six bomb blasts

Prayagraj witnessed six bomb blasts in past three months. They police started investigating and found shocking details after a two-month-long probe. The attackers were identified from a CCTV footage. The attacks took place on May 22, July 22 and July 25 in the Civil Lines area. July 4 in Daryaganj and on July 15 and 16 in the Shivkuti area.
