TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao wrote an open letter to the PM on Tuesday. In the letter, he alleged that the “Rozgar Mela” inaugurated by the Prime Minister to provide jobs to 10 lakh people is yet another drama and a Cruel Joke on unemployed youth.

Moreover, he said that it was ‘cruel’ by the PM to betray youth and the unemployed only for gains in the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections.

KTR alleged Rozgar Mela a Cruel Joke

In an open letter to the PM on Tuesday, Rama Rao alleged that it had become a practice for PM to indulge in such acts of betrayal before elections.

KTR reminded Modi of his promise to provide 2 crore jobs to youth every year, made during the 2014 Lok Sabha poll campaign. Furthermore, he challenged PM Modi to release a white paper on the jobs provided in the last eight years.

He added that the TS government gave 2.24 lakh jobs in the government sector and 16.5 lakh jobs in the private sector in eight years.

He further added that the BJP government could not fill even 50,000 posts per year. But they claim to provide employment to 75,000 youths through Rozgar Mela.  KTR said, ‘I am sure unemployed and youth in the country are keenly watching your false claims on jobs.’

In addition to that, he alleged that due to privatisation and closure of PSUs (public sector undertakings) in the last eight years, over 2 lakh regular employees have lost jobs.

According to The Deccan Chronicle, Rama Rao demanded that the PM should take concrete steps to issue notifications immediately to fill all the vacancies in various central government departments first instead of indulging in ‘cheap publicity stunts’ in the name of rozgar melas.
