Monsoon session of the Parliament started on Monday, 19 July,2021. The much awaited monsoon session started with adjournment and protests by the opposition.
People of India expected so much from this monsoon session of the Parliament. All the expectations have gone for a toss. The strategy remains the same, be it any political party – fool the people.
Day One
Day one of the Monsoon session of the Parliament started with got new revelations regarding the Pegasus – Israeli spyware.
The issue came into light about hacking the phones of the over 40 journalists, opposition leaders and activists.
There were adjournments and protests by the opposition protesting against the spyware.
Day Two
Day two also started on a stormy note. The proceedings of the Parliament was adjourned by the Speaker Om Birla, till 2.00 PM today.
However, notices were given by the opposition parties to have a discussion about the Pegasus issue today.
‘Politicians are scoundrels’ is an age-old saying. This monsoon session of Parliament proves that. There are many more important issues to discuss and bring the attention of the government towards them.
But, alas! why would the political parties do that. ‘They are the birds of the same feathers’.
Important Issues
There are many important issues to focus on. It would be better for the opposition to talk about the increasing fuel prices, all time-high Unemployment, Farmers protesting from 8 months, impact of the rising prices on the poor, COVID-19 mismanagement, solutions to gear up for the third wave, etc.
Strategy of the Government
Even the opposition fell into the trap of the BJP government. The revelations of Pegasus on the day of Monsoon session of Parliament may be a strategy to keep the opposition away from discussing these important issues.
The BJP government has no answers to their failures. But, the opposition has no integrity to talk about the burning issues.
Around 40% of people in India use mobile phones. Out of them only few numbers may be put under the spyware.
Should the political leaders waste their time on the Pegasus issue rather than talking about the important issues which help the people of India.
Remember, parliament sessions are being held with the people’s money. They are wasting our time and money.
