Many several states across the country are reeling under long power cuts, but there is no power cuts in Telangana. However, according to the state officials only small and minor power supply interruptions during maintenance work might be there. But Telangana state is providing full power supply to all sectors and there are no power cuts in the state.
According to Telangana today, many states are unable to get their daily electricity needs due to increased electricity consumption in summer and national power shortage. From the past few days many states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have frequent power cuts in residential and industrial areas. Due to power crisis many states’ power companies have to purchase power.
According to reports, officials have estimated the country overnight peak power demand to be 217 gigawatts (GW) this April. This is an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the last year April.
States like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra is facing a power crisis. They declare a power cut in many areas. During this summer season, the peak power demand in Greater Hyderabad is likely to rise up to 80 million units.
According to power officials, total power generation in the state reached 242.49 million units on Friday. Out of this thermal power is 80.289 mu, hydel power is 1.856 mu and Singareni Thermal Power Station (STPS) plant is 27.186 mu. Apart from this, 92.03 million units are generated by Central Generating Stations (CGS) and 41.129 mu by non-conventional energy systems.
