COVID-19: Modi holds a Video Conference with all CMs of States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held a video conference, with chief ministers of all states on Saturday. This video conference was held in the wake of the nationwide Coronavirus lockdown.

The lockdown is expected to end in three days. The video conference went on for two-hours. The Chief ministers of two Telugu states, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and AP Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, participated in the video conference.

The Prime Minister received suggestions from the chief ministers over corona conditions and lockdown. He asked for the State wise opinions of the chief Ministers.

  • The main objective of the lockdown is to protect the lives of the people.
  • Everyone who participated in the video conference came to a common consensus on the importance of public health.
  • Many state CMs have suggested that the lockdown should continue until April 30.
  • Lockdown should be for the whole country rather than the state.
  • The Prime Minister made several indications regarding medical devices, kits and medicines available to the public.
  • Amarinder Singh, Punjab chief minister has requested for special concessions to industries and agriculture.
  • Request for Rapid test kits was made to be shipped to the states quickly.
  • Prime Minister Modi made it clear that he would be available for 24 hours. “Tell me whatever you find difficult,” the Prime Minister said. He said there was a strategy to get out of every problem.
  • A total of 7447 corona positive cases were reported across the country, out of which 239 people succumbed to the disease.
