Police registered an FIR against suspended Telangana BJP leader and MLA T Raja Singh for alleged hate speech in Maharashtra’s Latur city.
According to officials, MLA T Raja Singh as delivered an inflammatory speech to create communal tension. At an event on February 19, which was organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Various organisations had demanded the Latur superintendent of police to take action against Raja Singh. Organisations warned that they would protest if their demand not fill.
On Monday, Shivaji Nagar police station in the city booked Singh under Indian Penal Code sections, including 153A, promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence and language.
