Infosys terminated employee for posting obscene COVID-19 message

Infosys terminated employee for posting an objectionable content on COVID-19.

Infosys has added in its post on Twitter, that it has a zero tolerance policy towards such acts. It also added that it has terminated the services of the employee.

An Infosys employee had posted in his face book to spread the corona virus, for which he got fired.

In a statement on Twitter, Infosys said that it has fired the employee, who asked people to spread the corona virus in a Facebook post. The Infosys software engineer, gave a call to people to sneeze in public to spread the novel corona virus.

The company believed that it had been a case of mistaken identity. It later confirmed that Mujeeb Mohammad, one of its employees has been terminated from service with immediate effect.

It also mentioned that it has completed the investigation on the social media post.

It also clarified that it was not a case of mistaken identity. Since, the infosys employee was terminated as the employee did not abide by the code of conduct and its commitment to responsible social sharing.

“Let’s join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus.”

Mujeeb Mohammad had posted on Facebook. He had been arrested on Friday night.
