Hathras victim’s family leaves for Lucknow, will appear before Allahabad HC

Sub-divisional magistrate Anjali Gangwar, accompanied the Hathras victim’s family . He said that proper security arrangements were made. District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) are also accompanying them.

The family members of the 19-year-old Dalit woman, who was allegedly raped by four men in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district, earlier in September, have been taken to Lucknow amid high security arrangements, as scheduled to be presented before the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Monday.

Pictures released by news agencies show the kin of the woman, were being accompanied by a number of policemen. The victim had died at a hospital in Delhi following the assault.

The victim’s brother had earlier refused travel in the night. He said that they had made it clear that they will not travel during the night. The Police had asked them to be ready to leave for Lucknow by 5.30 am tomorrow.
