Hanuman Chalisa Row: Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece ‘Samana’ on Monday alleged that the BJP is using the Rana couple. It said that BJP is desperate to oust the Maha Vikas Aghadi(MVA) government. Moreover, BJP is the master mind behind the ‘Hanuman Chalisa row’.

According to NDTV, ‘the Samana’ editorial argued. “The recent ruckus stirred up by the BJP in the name of Hindutva cannot be supported.. the BJP is behind this.

They had planned to disturb the peace of Mumbai using MP-MLA- Rana couple and everything happened on their instructions that outraged the Shiv Sena workers and the couple was not allowed to step outside their house.”

As per the reports of NDTV, ‘Samana’ states that “there is no assurance over the ideological affiliations of this couple”. MP Navneet Rana had opposed lawmakers who were taking oath in the name of Lord Ram in the Parliament.

Furthermore, it said, “it’s astonishing that today BJP is dancing around at the behest of the said MP. Moreover on the issues like ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ and other Hindutva issues”

In addition to this, it argued that the “couple faked their caste certificates in order to contest the election from a reserved seat”.

Earlier, the Rana couple announced that they would recite, ‘Hanuman chalisa’ in front of ‘Matoshree’ the private residence of Uddhav Thackeray.

After their announcement, Shiv Sena workers protested outside the residence of Navneet and Ravi Rana. They did not want the couple to reach the Chief Minister’s residence.

However, the Ranas withdrew their plan to chant ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ amid protests from Shiv Sena workers.

Meanwhile, the couple were sent to judicial custody on Sunday for 14 days.
