The first solar eclipse of 2020 is likely to be visible in India from 9:15 AM and will conclude around 3:04 PM. If you will be driving during this time tomorrow, then take a look at things that you should avoid.
After two penumbra lunar eclipses, 2020 will witness its first solar eclipse tomorrow i.e. 21 June. As all of us know that a total solar eclipse occurs when the sun, moon, and earth align in a straight line and the sun is obscured by the moon, which creates a shadow on the earth. But unlike other eclipses, the event taking place tomorrow is a little special.
Firstly, it falls on the same day as the summer solstice, which is the longest day of a year. And secondly, it’s sun annular solar eclipse. This means that the moon will not completely cover the sun and the rim will be visible. This creates a phenomenon called the ‘Ring of Fire’.
The solar eclipse will be visible in several countries, including the Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Pakistan, China, and India. The event is likely to be visible in India from 9:15 AM and will conclude around 3:04 PM. It reaches peak at around 12:10 PM.
This means that solar eclipse will be in effect for over 6 hours. If it’s not possible for anyone to stay indoors during this time then take precautionary measures.
To observe solar eclipse make sure that you have the proper equipment with you. According to experts, one should never directly look at the sun during an eclipse as exposure to the light can impact the eyesight. Use binoculars, telescopes, or protective glasses.
