Bharat Biotech’s first consignment of Covaxin left for Delhi from Air India Flight AI 559 at 6.50 am yesterday.
The start of the coronavirus vaccination campaign is expected to commence from 16 January in the country. Before the commencement of the vaccination campaign, the work of delivering vaccines across the country is going on.
After the Covishield of Serum Institute, Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has also started sending its vaccine to different parts of the country. Bharat Biotech’s first consignment of Covaxin has been sent to Delhi today. The first consignment arrived early this morning via an aircraft from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
Both Covishield, and Covaxin of Bharat Biotech have been approved for emergency use by the Drug Controller General of India. The first delivery of the vaccine of Serum Institute began on Tuesday. It sent the delivery via flights of four airlines to 13 locations in the country. The world’s largest vaccination drive will begin in India, from January 16.
Bharat Biotech’s first consignment of Covaxin left for Delhi from Air India Flight AI 559 at 6.50 am today. Three boxes of vaccines from Hyderabad arrived at Delhi Airport weighing 80.5 kg. The Central Government has placed the order with ‘Serum Institute of India’ (SII) and ‘Bharat Biotech’ for more than six crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine on Monday. The total value of this order will be around Rs 1,300 crore.
