Elon Musk was trolled badly for his free speech deal after he took over the social media giant ‘Twitter’.
A day after Elon Musk confirmed the Twitter deal, the world’s wealthiest man explained his ‘free speech model’. He gave an explanation to silence his critics on Tuesday.
“free speech”, figured several times in his plans for the social media company. Musk clarified that free speech must abide by the law of the land. He claimed that he is against censorship that goes far beyond the law.
The Tesla CEO targeted his critics in a cryptic tweet saying, “The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all.”
By “free speech”, “I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”
Musk, the world’s richest man, finalized a deal on Monday to buy Twitter for $44 billion. After the deal was confirmed there were many threats. People criticized Musk mercilessly. However, all that ended when Musk took control of the firm and targeted his critics.
