A complaint of criminal trespass against Tejasvi Surya was filed by the Osmania University Registrar, for entering the campus without permission.
Mr. Tejasvi Surya has been charged in a police case for entering Hyderabad’s OU without permission earlier this week, in his campaign for the city civic polls.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya was invited by the local BJP leaders to campaign for the city civic polls. He was supposed to address at few places.
In an unplanned development, he headed towards the Osmania University campus without any permission and created ruckus over there to grab the attention of the people. But everything went futile.
There were not more than 100 people there. Majority of them were journalists with their teams and policemen. Everyone watched their over- action and how they wanted to make a mountain out of a mole.
Tejasvi Surya was invited to the city for campaigning extensively for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls in December. He entered the Osmania University campus without permission and made several controversial remarks while targeting Hyderabad MP and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi as well as Telangana’s ruling party TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samiti).
The MP from Bengaluru barged into the iconic university on Tuesday along with his supporters. He allegedly removed barricades and barbed wire put up at the gates and forced his way into the campus to address students at the Arts College building.
Mr. Surya had accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekara Rao (KCR), that on his orders the police on the campus had blocked his entry. The police denied it, saying it was the university that had put up the barricades to ensure that only staff and students enter the University.
Mr. Surya said that he had visited Osmania University to pay respects to the Telangana movement’s martyrs, but KCR has closed its gates.
Telangana Police chief Mahender Reddy said today that the Osmania University Registrar had filed a complaint of criminal trespass against Tejasvi Surya.
