Politics in Maharashtra seems to be no less than a Bollywood blockbuster with lots of masala in it. Little did the Thackeray Government imagine that with serious allegations on them, they would be eyed by the BJP to either topple the government or at least on winning the Bihar election, due in few months.
The SSR case has become the power game between two states – Maharashtra and Bihar.
Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Mahahrashtra is known as a usurper. As known to everyone Thackeray runs the government in alliance with the Congress and the NCP. From when the government came into power, the BJP’s anger seems held in reserve for the Thackeray family and their party, the Sena.
Many people have expressed that Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray present a real danger to the BJP in Maharashtra and its leadership.
The BJP had assumed leadership after the death of his father, Bal Thackeray. Everyone thought that, the Sena, would never become powerful as Uddhav Thackeray, a non-charismatic, quiet photographer wouldn’t become charismatic
BJP miscalculated Thackeray and when his son, Aditya was made a minister, the BJP couldn’t digest it and decided it was time for an intervention. Hence they started a smear campaign run against Aaditya Thackeray with disturbed social media allegations that he has a link to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Paid trends against him top the social media charts and I cannot even report the WhatsApp claims being created by the IT Cell against the Thackeray family as it would amount to defame. The campaign is named as “Pappu 2″.
This campaign is similar to the “Pappu” campaign that the BJP and its IT Cell ran against Rahul Gandhi complete with industrial-grade WhatsApp jokes and propaganda which I had revealed in my investigative book “I Am A Troll: Inside the BJP’s Secret Army.” Gandhi’s image never quite recovered from the onslaught.
Surprisingly, this campaign is not only against the Thackeray family, but also – the Pawar clan. They know that “weak link”, Ajit Pawar, the nephew of party chief Sharad Pawar had teamed up with Devendra Fadnavis to form the government after the election.
This can be strengthened further because Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar was publicly rebuked by Sharad Pawar for demanding a CBI inquiry into the death of Rajput.
The huge fissures in the Pawar family are now confirmed to BJP as, Parth Pawar took a cheeky shot at his grandfather, tweeting “Satyamev Jayate” (the truth prevails). After the Supreme Court two days ago said the case will be handed over to the CBI.
Though Pawar is known as the ultimate in politics, BJP has been playing cheap games, Fadnavis being the key player, promising heaven and earth to Ajit
Pawar and his son. Now, Pawar has been given an open channel to PM Narendra Modi who has been referred to the Maharashtra veteran as his “political guru”.
These developments are now making Congress and Sena nervous. Now they have understood that BJP is planning to topple the government by the hugely-politicized “Justice for SSR” campaign. Once the case is solved it would be used to win the Bihar elections.
