The members of Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) continue their strike/ protests by boycotting elective and Covid-19 related duties at Gandhi Hospital, on Thursday.
The Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) continued their strike and boycotted even emergency services in government teaching and allied hospitals. About 4000 doctors were on strike to protest for their demand. The first day strike started with boycotting Covid 19 duties and intensified on next day with boycotting emergency duties.
Health Minister, Eatala Rajender, for the second time in two-days,urged the doctors to resume duties with the discussions on Thursday. The TJUDA members, however, are yet to take a decision on calling-off the strike.
Earlier in the day, the medicos submitted a strike continuation letter to the Superintendent of Gandhi Hospital, Dr. M Raja Rao.
‘We Telangana Junior Doctors Association bring to your notice that we are continue the strike as our demands were not assured by the Health Minister yesterday. we are not going to resume our duties until our demands (Decentralisation of Covid cases) are fulfilled in a time bound manner,” the letter said.
The medicos protested inside the hospital campus and boycotted their elective and regular duties at all the Covid inpatient wards at Gandhi Hospital.
