Telangana: Over 2 lakh households will get potable water within ORR

The Telangana government is all set to achieve another milestone by providing potable water to over 2 lakh households located outside Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and within Outer Ring Road (ORR) by June.

According to Telangana Today, the Telangana government Under ORR Project Phase-II. The HMWS&SB is developing a 2,093 km of water pipeline for people located outside GHMC and within ORR.

The supply of water for households in the municipalities, corporations, gram panchayats, colonies, and gated communities located outside GHMC and within ORR. The major step in this project is the construction of chlorination rooms and pumping stations.  

According to HMWS&SB official informed about the present status of this ORR Project Phase-II. The project that will make water scarcity a thing of the past in these areas. 100 more colonies are already being supplied with drinking water under ORR Project Phase-II. However, this June, the entire project will be completed. Meanwhile, as the works are progressing we are supplying water to the households,” he said. 

State government implemented this ORR Project Phase-II project with Rs.1,200 crore. This project will provide new drinking water connections to put an end to the water crisis.
