Prime Minister Narendra Modi, announced that the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award will be known as Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award from now.
He said that the people of India were pestering him to change the name of the Award. Hence, he was changing the name for “respecting the sentiments of citizens across the country”.
Elated with his decision, several BJP leaders and politicians shared a photo of the PM thanking him for this. However, in a bid to please the PM or to butter him, they shared a photo of the ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ medal.
Little did they know, that they were doing a great blunder. They proved themselves to be as they are mocked by the people. The medal in the photo is of the Param Vir Chakra, the country’s highest military honors.
Surprisingly, the photo of the medal was shared by multiple leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party BJP and few news outlets.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra thanked PM Modi through his tweet and shared the image of the wrong medal.
