With 22,252 new cases, India’s COVID-19 count crosses 7 lakh mark, death toll above 20,000

India’s COVID-19 count crossed 7 lakh mark with 22,252 new cases and 467 deaths in the last 24 hours, on Tuesday.

The number of total positive cases in the country stand at 7,19,665 including 2,59,557 active cases.

4,39,948 people have been cured/ discharged/ migrated. The death toll in the country breached 20,000-mark as the country recorded a total of 20,160 deaths.

Maharashtra has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. The state tally stood at 2.11 lakh. While 87,699 of these are active cases, 1.15 lakh people have been discharged/ cured.

9,026 people have lost their lives so far in the state, according to the latest data shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
