Wipro had found 300 people to be moonlighting and working for competitors in the last few months, hence the employees were terminated. This was revealed by Wipro Chairperson Rishad Premji on Wednesday. He reiterated that there was no lace in the company for such people.

Earlier, Mr. Premji was criticised for comparing ‘moonlighting to cheating’. However, he said that he still stands by his view. He had been very vocal about moonlighting right from the beginning.

According to Rishad Premji, “If you actually look at the definition of Moonlighting, it is having a second job secretively…I’m all about transparency. As a part of transparency, individuals in organisations can have very candid conversations.”

Rishad very strongly criticised ‘moonlighting. He said that the employees were terminated for “act of integrity violation”. He opined that it is a “complete violation of integrity in its deepest form” “The reality is that there are people today working for Wipro and working directly for one of our competitors and we have actually discovered 300 people in the last few months who are doing exactly that.”
