Meta-owned Whatsapp is reportedly planning to introduce a new username feature, allowing users to choose a unique username for their accounts. Users are now excited to experience this special feature.
According to WABetaInfo, users can choose a unique and memorable username rather than relying simply on phone numbers to identify contacts with the help of this feature.
However, this feature is still in development and will be available to beta testers in future app updates.
As per The Statesmen reports, Users could also be given the option by the company to contact users without knowing their phone numbers by providing a username in the app.
Additionally, the source stated that the company is preparing to introduce the feature to the app settings. Specifically, a section dedicated to this feature will be available inside WhatsApp Settings > Profile.
