UP: A part of road dug by BJP MLA for not getting commission

BJP MLA dug up a part of the road with the help of a bulldozer in UP for not getting a commission from the contractor.

He dug up the half-kilometer stretch of road laid by the Public Works Department (PWD), connecting Shahjahanpur to Budaun.

According to a police source, a case was registered by the contractor Ramesh Singh against Jagveer Singh and 15 to 20 people. The police registered a case under the IPC and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act on October 3.

In his complaint, the contractor said, that Jagveer Singh, introduced himself as the representative of the BJP MLA. He demanded a commission of 5% from the employees of the construction company on several occasions. However, when he did not receive the commission. He and his men dug up half a kilometer of the road with bulldozers.

According to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena, Jagveer reached the road construction site with 15 to 20 men. They beat up the workers with sticks and dug half a kilometer off the road with bulldozers. Interestingly, MLA Veer Vikram Singh said the accused Jagveer Singh is a BJP worker but not his representative.

However, according to the police sources, the police are determined to take complete legal action against the accused.
