Salvador Ramos, the 18-year old is the gunman who killed at least 19 children and two adults at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday. Eventually, he was shot dead by law enforcement officers. A brief about the Texas school shooting culprit Salvador Ramos.

Killing Grandmother

Ramos was a student at Uvalde High School and lived in the small city 80 miles west of San Antonio. According to the reports, the 18-year-old shot his grandmother in the face. Later, he stole the family truck and drove to Robb Elementary School just before midday on Tuesday. She called police on him herself, and was later taken to a hospital in critical condition.

On reaching the school, Ramos abandoned the truck in a ditch and headed inside. Unfortunately,  the school was unlocked and no officer was present to stop him.

Ramos made his entry into the school and started shooting children, teachers, whoever came in his way.

Surprisingly, Ramos legally purchased two AR-15-style rifles on his 18th birthday, one of which he used during the shooting. It is said that it was the first thing he did on his 18th birthday.

Apparently, Ramos brought as many as 660 rounds to Robb Elementary, packed into 22 high-capacity magazines.

No criminal record on the Culprit

On the other hand,  Ramos didn’t have a known criminal or mental health record. However, those who knew Ramos paint a picture of a deeply troubled individual.

Friends and relatives have said that Ramos was bullied, cut his own face, fired a BB gun at random people and egged cars in the years leading up to the deadly attack.

According to his family and friends, Ramos had a difficult home life. He was bullied as he would stutter. Eventually, he reacted violently towards both friends, strangers, and his mother.

According to The Washington Post, Ramos had friends till his early days of elementary school. His friends decreased as his behavior began to grow worse. 

According to Ramos’ friends and family members,  Ramos was bullied in middle school and junior high school for his stutter and lisp, hence had a difficult school experience. 

Classmates said that Ramos is said to have missed large parts of the school year and wasn’t set to graduate with the others this year.
