Telangana government to provide free notebooks to students

Telangana government has decided to provide free notebooks to students in the next academic year2023-2024. The Class 6th to 12th students of the government and local body schools, Model Schools, TREIS, Urban Residential Schools and KGBVs, will be provided six to 14 free notebooks to all students.

According to Telangana today, the state government has started the process of procuring 1,17,88,699 notebooks for the academic year at the estimated cost of Rs.56.24 crore.

Each student in Class 6th and 7th will get six notebooks containing 200 pages. Students studying in class 8th will get seven notebooks for each student. Students of classes 9th and 10th will get 14 notebooks. Intermediate students of regular and vocational courses in residential schools run by the School Education Department will get 12 and 10 notebooks, respectively.

The government’s new initiative will benefit nearly 12 lack students. Already providing free textbooks to students of government schools and colleges.

For the students of classes 1st to 5th, the government has decided on free workbooks for the next academic year at an estimated cost of Rs.34.70 crore. Each student will get three workbooks, benefitting 11,27,457 students.

According to the education department officials, the process of procuring notebooks and workbooks has already started, and the distribution will start soon.
