Shrikant Tyagi was arrested on Tuesday morning from Meerut, four days after he absconded after assaulting and abusing a woman in the Grand Omaxe society case, he is sent to 14-days judicial custody.

Ironically, after his arrest, Shrikant Tyagi said that the woman whom he abused and assaulted was like a sister to him and that it was a political conspiracy hatched against him.

The Surajpur court sent Tyagi to a 14-day judicial custody for abusing and assaulting the woman.

After his arrest Tyagi said, “I express my regret on the incident. She is like my sister, the incident is political and was done to politically decimate me,” said Tyagi.

As soon as the video went viral on the social media, there was an outrage among the netizens. However, the matter was not reported to the police by the victim. But the police reached out to the victim and lodged a complaint. Very soon a search for the accused began.

The police sent eight teams to nab Shrikant Tyagi. Apparently, he was changing his locations and mobile devices, hence, he could not be traced. Then the teams were increased to twelve. The police said that Tyagi went to Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Haridwar and Rishikesh. However, Shrikant Tyagi was arrested in Meerut along with his aides.

Unfortunately, Tyagi claims to be a BJP Kisan Morcha leader but the party denied any association with him.
