The video of BJP leader, Shrikant Tyagi went viral on social media, using abusive language and assaulting the woman. The video was shared multiple times. Very soon, The National Commission for Women (NCW) sought the arrest of the BJP leader, Shrikant Tyagi.
The accused Shrikant Tyagi claimed to be a member of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha. Moreover, his pictures with senior leaders surfaced on social media. However, the party’s local unit distanced itself from him.
Meanwhile, due to criticism at large, BJP spokesperson, announced that he was never and is not connected with the BJP party. Hence, the police and the system can take a free hand to take action according to the law.
In the video, we can understand that the spat took place at the Grand Omaxe Society in Sector-93 B , in Noida recently . Mr. Tyagi wanted to plant some saplings in the common area of the society. However, this lady objected to this and cited violation of rules. told him that it was not according to the rules.
The NCW soon got into action and sought the arrest of the accused in a tweet. The chairperson Rekha Sharma wrote to the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police to ensure a fair and speedy investigation into the matter.
“NCW has also sought FIR and arrest of the accused for assaulting a woman,” the NCW tweeted. Furthermore, the commission also asked to provide protection to the woman.
Right now, the accused is absconding. The police reached his house and arrested 4 members of his family, including his wife. They also seized 3 vehicles from his house.
