The chairman of Narayana educational institutions and former minister, Ponguru Narayana was arrested in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning.

CID police of Andhra Pradesh took him into custody at his residence in Kondapur in Hyderabad. The arrests comes in connection with the leakage of Tenth class question papers in Andhra Pradesh.

Allegedly, Narayana school in Chittoor district of AP, leaked the question papers. Earlier, the police arrested the vice-principal of the school Giridhar and two others in the case.

Reportedly, Mr. Narayana, a former minister in the previous Telugu Desam Party government, was absconding since four days. Moreover, his whereabouts were unknown as he switched off his mobile phones.

Meanwhile, the staff of Narayana institutions reached the toll gates on way to Andhra Pradesh. After they came to know that the Police were shifting Narayana and his wife Ramadevi to Chittoor.

Andhra Pradesh TDP president K.A tchan Naidu condemned the arrest of Narayana by the police. He alleged that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was resorting to illegal arrests to divert the attention of the public from his misrule.

On the other hand, the Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana claimed that the question papers were not leaked anywhere in the state.
