No money for ambulance

As per the local journalist, Poojaram, pleaded with the doctors and staff of the hospital for a vehicle to take the body back to his village, which is around 30 km away. As usual, he was turned down and told the hospital did not have a vehicle at hand, and he would have to pay for one outside.

When he approached an ambulance operator parked on the hospital premises, he demanded ₹ 1,500 /- . Poojaram who runs a puncture shop in his village couldn’t afford that money. Hence, Poojaram left the hospital with the body of his son Raja and another son Gulshan.

Search for an ambulance at affordable price

Poojaram then decided to leave Gulshan in front of Morena’s Nehru Park, so that he can look for an ambulance at an affordable price.

Gulshan sat there for about half an hour with his dead brother’s head on his lap, waiting for his father’s return.

Crowd intervened

Very soon people started gathering around him and asked him questions. With a tear or two in his eyes, he answered them. Soon the news spread and the local media came to know about it. Eventually, someone alerted the authorities.

Finally, a police officer Yogendra Singh intervened and picked up the body and led Gulshan back to the district hospital. Poojaram was seen pleading the ambulance drivers and the hospital authorities for an ambulance. With the media and the authorities around  the hospital provided an ambulance free of cost. And then they made their way home.
