Karnataka teacher throws class 4 student from 1st floor, dies

Karnataka: A class 4 student dies in Karnataka after his teacher beat him and pushed him off the first-floor balcony of the government-run school. The incident at the school in Hadli village in Naragund taluk took place on Monday. 

According to the police, the teacher, identified as Muthappa Yellapa Hadagali. She also assaulted the child’s mother Geetha Barker who also taught at the same school.

The teacher was taking classes in a government-run Model Higher Primary School. The student was beaten with an iron rod, as per sources, and he was allegedly thrown from the first floor of the school premises.

The teacher Muthappa, is absconding. A case was registered and a probe to nab him has been launched. An FIR has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Police.
