India records highest spike of 14,516 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours

India reported its highest-ever single day spike of 14,516 new coronavirus cases which has taken the country’s Covid caseload to close to 4 lakh on Friday

India is on the verge of crossing the 4 lakh mark as the country as the coronavirus caseload  recorded over 14,000 new infections in a single day in a fresh spike.

For the first time, India on Friday reported 14,516 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours which took the country’s Covid caseload tally to over 3.95 lakh.

As per the data released by the Union health ministry, India’s total infections stood at 395,048 on Saturday morning.

In the past 24 hours, India’s death toll mounted to 12,948 as 375 people died across the country due to the coronavirus.

The total number of coronavirus cases also includes 168,269 active cases, 213,831 cured/discharged/migrated and 12,948 deaths, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
