Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, UP and Odisha are the five states which are given the warning of heat wave. The temperatures in UP and Odisha may soar above 45 degrees Celsius. These conditions may persist till the first week of May.
Northwest India is under extreme heat in 2022. It recorded the hottest March in 122 years. The average maximum temperature exceeding the previous record of 30.67 degrees Celsius in 2004.
The weather department has announced heat wave warning for at least five states as India. It says that these states will witness its “hottest summer ever”. However, large parts of the country reporting temperatures around 45 degrees Celsius.
According to NDTV, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heat wave conditions in large parts of the country. It may continue for at least the next five days. The department said, “Rise by about 2 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures very likely over most parts of Northwest India during next three days and fall by about 2 degrees Celsius thereafter.”
The temperatures are in the increasing side in Central India in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh crossing 45 degrees Celsius. The national capital also witnessed the same and it is likely to touch 44 degrees by Friday. Jammu and Kashmir recorded its hottest day of the season with 40 degrees Celsius.
However, the soaring temperatures has led to power cuts and water crisis in different parts of the country.
