Ghulam Nabi Azad, a senior Congress leader and former Union Minister, resigns the party today. He conveyed the same through a five page letter to party chief Sonia Gandhi.

Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned from all posts of the party citing the “immaturity” of Rahul Gandhi whom he blamed for “demolishing the consultative mechanism” in the party.

According to his letter, he suggested the Congress to start a ‘Congress Jodo Yatra’. However, he has criticized Rahul Gandhi for his resignation. In his letter he blamed Rahul Gandhi for immaturity and for demolishing the consultative mechanism’ in the party.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad severs all ties with Congress party, ANI tweeted.

He wrote about how Rahul Gandhi tore up the government ordnance in the full glare of the media by Rahul Gandhi. He further said that the childish behavior cost them the authority of the Prime Minister and the government of India. This one single action more than anything else contributed significantly to the defeat of the UPA government in 2014 .

Subsequently, UPA was at the receiving end of a campaign of calumny and insinuation from a combination of forces of the right wing and certain unscrupulous corporate interests.

In addition to this, it is therefore with great regret and an extremely leaden heart that I have decided to sever my half a century old association with Indian National Congress.

He added that the remote-control model is destroying the integrity of UPA. However, the chosen one will be nothing more than a puppet.
