How the murder plan leaked?
The arrests were made based on a complaint lodged at Pet- Basheerabad police station on 25 February. The complainants were Farooq and Hyder Ali.
According to the Commissioner of Police Raveendra, the BJP MP’s Personal Assistant (PA) Raju had allegedly contacted Farooq to take the latter’s help in ”killing” the minister. However, Farooq informed the plan to his friend Hyder Ali.
According to the police, Raju felt that Farooq and Ali could leak the conspiracy to others. Hence, Raju allegedly planned to eliminate Farooq and Ali. It is reported that Raju’s associates – Yadiah, Nagaraju and Vishwanath – followed Farooq and Ali to kill them. It is alleged that they were carrying knives with them.
