China reports 26 new Covid-19 cases including 22 in Beijing

India reported 14,516 new covid-19 cases in a single day, pushing the country’s Covid-19 caseload to over 3.95 lakh, on Saturday morning.

However, several states reported over 5,000 coronavirus cases by evening. This was the third consecutive day that India registered a record jump in the number of coronavirus cases.

Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in the country by the pandemic, alone reported 3,874, its highest ever jump in a single day. The latest spike in cases took the state’s total tally to 1,28,205. As many as 5,984 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in Maharashtra so far.

The total tally in Delhi rose to over 56,000, with the highest single-day spike of 3,630 Covid-19 cases. While the death toll mounted to 2,112. India is the fourth worst-hit nation by the pandemic after the US, Brazil and Russia.
