Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ to unite the country, launches today

This yatra is going to cover 3,500 Kilo-meters in 150 days. Rahul Gandhi visited his father Rajiv Gandhi's memorial in Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur.

Rahul Gandhi will launch The Bharat Jodo Yatra at 5pm with a rally in Kanya kumari. However, the ‘padyatra or march’ will begin on Thursday morning.

This ‘Bharat Jodo yatra ‘from kanya Kumari to Kashmir is a promising march which would bring in changes . Changes in the mindset of the people and the alternative to the present government in the Centre. The change is much needed to the Congress and its workers now.

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’ is going to be a transformational moment for Indian politics and it is a decisive moment for the rejuvenation of the party,

said Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will launch the ‘Bharat Jodo yatra from Kanya Kumari today. This yatra is going to cover 3,500 Kilo-meters in 150 days. Rahul Gandhi visited his father Rajiv Gandhi’s memorial in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur.

Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a suicide attack on May 21, 1991. Later, he tweeted, “I lost my father to the politics of hate and division. I will not lose my beloved country to it too. Love will conquer hate. Hope will defeat fear. Together, we will overcome.”

Rahul Gandhi feels that this ‘yatra’ is like a ‘tapasya’ for him to unite the country. He wants to fight against social polarization and political centralization under the BJP rule. Mr. Gandhi will attend an event at Kanyakumari’s Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam in the evening. The Chief minister of Tamil Nadu will hand over the national flag to Rahul Gandhi to launch the  yatra.
