An Air India pilot allegedly invited a woman friend to the cockpit and gets suspended for 3 months from his services by the authority.
According to news reports, the DGCA stated the pilot’s “lady friend” was an Air India employee on duty but flying as a passenger. The incident took place on Air India flight, shortly after its take off on February 27th.
The woman spent most of the journey from Delhi to Dubai inside the cockpit. Later, a crew member filed a complaint with Air India.
The DGCA penalized the airlines Rs 30 lakh for failing to “promptly and effectively” address the safety-sensitive issue. Moreover, it stated, the pilot’s gesture on the Delhi-Dubai flight on February 27 was unlawful and a “misuse of his authority.”
Later it instructed Air India to take administrative action against her, including removing her from all supervisory positions within the organization for a specific period of time.
