Home Minister Amit Shah had introduced the FCRA bill in the Lok Sabha on 21 September 2020. The Bill was passed by the Lok Sabha too. The bill introduced by the Union Home Minister is introduced with significant changes to the FCR Act of 2010 which was enacted by the previous government. New changes are made to regulate the acceptance and utilization of foreign donations by persons, relatives, and organizations.
Those who belong to the Hindu faith have accused that the Act which the previous government had introduced paved way for many foreign forces to interfere into the Indian affairs. The funds which came in were mainly used for conversions and other welfare activities by other religions. They felt that it was very harmful for the nation as a whole.
The BJP led government had abolished the FCRA when it came to power, but now it understood that foreign funds are needed by them hence the Bill is again introduced in the Parliament.
The main people who opposed the Bill and made allegations are now in the forefront to receive the funds.
