Coronavirus: 19,459 new cases, 380 deaths in 24 hrs, India’s tally 5.48 lakh

19,459 fresh coronavirus cases and 380 deaths were recorded in India in the past 24 hours. The new infections have pushed the country’s coronavirus tally to over 5.48 lakh.

Coronavirus caseload in India inched closer to the 5.50 lakh mark on Monday as over 19,000 fresh cases were reported on Sunday. India has reported it’s highest-ever single-day spike of 19,459 coronavirus cases.

The coronavirus cases tally in India now stands at 5,48,318. This is the sixth consecutive day that coronavirus infections have increased by more than 15,000.

In the past 24 hours, 380 people have died due to coronavirus. The total number of deaths in the country now stands at 16,475.

Of the coronavirus caseload in India, 210,120 are positive cases, while 3,21,723 have cured, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

A record single-day surge of 19,906 coronavirus cases pushed India’s tally to 528,859 on Sunday, while the death toll rose to 16,095 with 410 persons succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
