BRS party announces Bade Nagajyothi as the MLA candidate for the Mulugu Assembly constituency. She is to challenge the Ex-Naxalite Seethakka for Mulugu ST’s reserved Assembly seat. Bade Nagajyothi is currently the Mulugu Zilla Parishad chairperson. She is the daughter of a popular Maoist leader, Nageshwar Rao.
Nagajyothi is the daughter of the late Bade Nageshwara Rao alias Prabhakar, a Maoist leader, and late Rajeshwari alias Nirmalakka, who hails from Kalvapalli village in Tadavi mandal of the tribal majority Mulugu district. Her father Nageshwar Rao was a popular Naxalite leader. He had much support from the tribals in the region. He was killed in an alleged encounter with the police.
A 29-year-old Nagajyothi completed her M.Sc and B.Ed from Kakatiya University (KU), Warangal. She entered politics by contesting and winning as an independent sarpanch of her native Kalvapally in 2019. Later, she joined the BRS party and won the ZPTC election from Tadwai Mandal. And became the ZP vice-chairperson.
Bade Nagajyoti, chairman of Mulugu ZP, was emotional after the Mulugu MLA ticket was announced by CM KCR.
