On Saturday night, Sardar Vallabhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was allegedly flooded with knee-high water after 2 days of continuous rains. Several netizens and opposition leaders shared the Ahmedabad airport flooded videos on social media. The videos are now going viral all over the internet.
The heavy rains have caused water logging at the airport. This led to passengers facing trouble in reaching their flights on time.
No flights were cancelled despite the heavy rainfall. All flight movement and terminal operations continue to be normal and uninterrupted at SVPIA.
Due to heavy rains and water logging around the airport, the airport authority request all passengers to check with their respective airlines before starting their journey. Furthermore, it requested the passengers are advised to avoid parking at the airport facility. The information was shared by Ahmedabad Airport on its official Twitter handle.
Efforts were taken to safeguard the safety of passengers, while the IMD issued warnings of more rainfall. As floods disturbed regular life across Gujarat, rescue teams were mobilised to aid people in need.
