Hyderabad: Temple priest kills woman, dumps body in Manhole

Hyderabad: The temple priest from shamshabad killed a woman and dumped her body in a manhole. A 30-year-old woman went missing in Shamshabad, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on June 4. Later she was found dead on Friday, and police arrested the accused temple priest in connection with the murder.

According to news reports, the temple priest was identified as Ayyagari Sai Krishna and the victim was identified as Kuruganti Apsara. According to police reports, Sai Krishna was already married and had two children. However, he had an extramarital affair with Apsara and forced her to marry him. Then Sai Krishna resorted to murdering her.

The incident came to light when the accused, Sai Krishna, filed a missing complaint at the police station. He said he had dropped the victim, Apsara, at the Shamshabad bus stand as she planned to travel to Bhadrachalam. She was not responding to her calls.

The police started the investigation progress. Later they grew suspicious about his statements and the CCTV footage. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, that he had killed Apsara and dumped the body in a manhole in Saroornagar.

According to the police, the accused killed Apsara in Shamshabad and then packed her body in a plastic cover. He threw the body into a manhole behind the MRO Office, which is close to the temple where he works as a priest.

A case was registered against Sai Krishna, and further investigations are underway.
