Delhi Police: Nupur Sharma, Gets License To Carry Gun

Nupur Sharma gets a license to carry a gun  for self-protection delfrom the Delhi police. Earlier, she had requested it.

Suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, who had threats from various people over her controversial comments on Prophet Mohammed, has now got a gun license. She commented on Prophet Muhammed  during a TV debate that triggered protests and violence last year.

Consequently, she received threats to her life. Moreover, the Supreme Court remarked in July and  asked her to apologise for “setting the country on fire” with her irresponsible comments on May 26.

Subsequently, those who had come out in her support had also been threatened. It is alleged that at least two people were killed in this controversy.

According to the media, she was threatened on video by an Ajmer Dargah employee. He threatened to slit her throat. Another UP resident abused her and threatened to behead her.

The Supreme Court had said on Nupur Sharma in its July order: “The way she has ignited emotions across the country. This lady is single-handedly responsible for what is happening in the country.”

The judges also said: “She actually has a loose tongue and has made all kinds of irresponsible statements on TV and set the entire country on fire. Yet, she claims to be a lawyer of 10 years D… She should have immediately apologized for her comments to the whole country.”
