Yogi Adityanath no migrants returning to UP on foot, says to officials, Due to coronavirus lockdown thousands of helpless migrant workers have been returning to their home towns on foot in the absence of any transport.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ordered his officials to ensure no migrant labourer travelling on foot should enter the state. In view of the rising number of corona virus cases, he also asserted that the state government is actively engaged in bringing the migrants back safely to their homes.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office read, “The Chief Minister has issued categorical directions to the officials to ensure that no migrant labor returns to the state while travelling on foot. He assured that the state government has been actively engaged in bringing them back safely.”
The order has come in the wake of an alarming increase in COVID-19 cases, as  migrant workers have been trying to reach their hometowns on foot due to lack of proper transportation. Whereas, the Yogi government continue to impose lockdown and exercise caution in bringing stranded people back to the state.
172 workers were stopped by the UP Police on a highway in UP’s Bulandhshahr while they were trying to walk home from Delhi and Noida after Yogi Adityanath’s orders yesterday.
The migrant workers, who were on their way home in UP from neighbouring states like Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan, were stopped by the police were in hundreds.
Over 5 lakh migrants were safely brought from other states and expects another two lakh migrants.from different parts of the country.
