Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, came into power for the third time consecutively. He contested elections against a rookie conservative leader. However, he failed to gain absolute majority.
He thanked the people of Canada for trusting the Liberals, “Thank you, Canada – for casting your vote, for putting your trust in the Liberal team, choosing a brighter future. We’re going to finish the fight against COVID. And we’re going to move Canada forward. For everyone”
Trudeau very strategically played the game of COVID-19 vaccine roll out. His new mandate was included to steer the nation’s pandemic exit and pass his agenda without opposition support.
The CBC and the CTV projected that Trudeau’s Liberal government would hold a minority of seats in the House of Commons, meaning he will need another party’s support to govern.
